Rust Underwater Update Patch Notes (August 2021)

Rusty Underwater Update is here for rust , and here is the complete list of changes and corrections added to this patch.

We have submarines, sharks, fishing and everything you expect for a summer update in the fascinating world of Rust. The new and official trailers for now live underwater update premiered minutes and showed us everything that someone has to do in an in-game event during the extremely hot summer days. You can now fish, shark with Harpunes hunt, board in submarines for some underwater adventures and much more. Below we have the extensive list of patch notes, so you like to look at.

Procedural underwater laboratories

The new underwater laboratories are fully procedural dungeons located on the seabed. You will be available in a variety of shapes and sizes and for the time being with two entry points. They enter them from a 'moon pool' in which they reappear with their submarine. From there, make sure that you are ready to face the different puzzles offered.

The bases have a wide network of CCTV cameras with which they can connect to plan their explorations in advance. On the new and improved player card, you can also see the layout of the base for each floor. In some rooms, you will also find microphones that allow you to transfer your commands to the entire network of the base.

If you like to take risks, you can play in the occasional canteen poker with high missions, listen to music with your group and cook some meat before you go back to start a fight with the NPCs that live in the corridors.

U boats

This update introduces submarines in Rust.

You can now buy a submarine in the boat shops in fishing villages.

The submarine for two people can accommodate up to two people, with internal fuel access and a combined instrument with rudimentary sonar. Look behind yourself and you will see the interaction user interface to swap seats. The one-person submarine offers space for one, with external fuel access and without instruments.

Torpedo

Both submarines have torpedo pipes that two torpedotypes can fire:

  • Direct torpedoes are fired straight.

  • Surface torpedoes rise to the surface and turf along the water surface.

You can buy torpedoes at a machine in a fishing village or make yourself.

Controls

Use the movement buttons for forward / back / left / right.

Sprint button to get to the surface.

Crouch button to dip deeper.

Look in the cockpit down to load torpedoes. Fire in the water with the usual shot key (left mouse button by default).

Enter underwater bases on moon pool locations that are displayed as red points in the Duo-U-Boot Sonar. If you are in the solo submarine, look for the lights that are thrown under the moon pool modules.

Expiration

Submarines have the same decay style like rowing boats and the Rhib. In the first 45 minutes in which they are not used, they do not expire. Then they lose in health: they keep another 240 minutes when they stay unused outside, or 180 minutes when they lie in deep water. If you are inside and not in deep water, you will not rot at all.

Fishing

The handmade fishing rod is now fully functional and ready for use!

To start, you must put a bait in the bait slot of the rod. Different foods can be used as bait whose value is displayed as bait in the article information. When collecting resources in the world (berries, hemp, potatoes, etc.) you can now find worms and magpies in addition to food. They have twice the chance to find them when they harvest plants planted by a player.

Once you have a bait ready, just go to the water while holding RMB and ejecting with LMB. As soon as you got a bite, you have to get the fish. You can use A / D to pull the left and right and S to catch up with the fish. If they fight against the movement of the fish to the left and right, he will be tired and less moved with time. However, if you get the fish and pull to the left and right, the string will be loaded if you burden it too strongly, tear the cord and the fish escapes. The rod starts to tremble and they hear acoustic signals when the string is stretched. So keep on when your string breaks.

We have added 8 new fish species to catch, from herring, anchovy and sardines to yellow bars, catfish, small sharks, salmon and orange Roughy. Different fish have different fishing conditions, including bait value, water type, water depth and location. You can not only exclude the fish for resources, but also bring their catches into each fishing village to exchange them against scrap.

Underwater Ambiente & Effects

We have made some changes to the Unterwasser-Look and Feel. The visibility has risen across the line, the lighting becomes darker, the deeper you go, and all in all it should be just a bit more exciting than the old dive into the water and the blind, unless you have equipped the magical goggles equipped .

Speaking of diving goggles: The display overlay of diving glasses no longer lights up for darkness, which should distract less in bad light conditions.

And finally, the wet-shore look is no longer enough deep into the sea, which made no sense from the outset.

These changes are all pretty technical, so you expect further improvements under water, if we repeat them in the future.

HAIA

The exploration of the depth can bring great benefits, but with these rewards, there are great risks. Each dive site has the opportunity to produce a shark that needs to be patrolled and defeated the area before they can claim the treasures found at the dive site. Harpoon

Being able to defend themselves from the distance among water, in view of the introduction of hostile marine life is of the utmost importance. You can now learn how to make a Harpune + ammunition from a level 1 workbench. This weapon can only be fired under water and has a blow similar to a crossbow, though with a slower projectile. It is also very effective to send enemy people.

subway side tunnel

In this update, we added a few more improvements to the subway network. So far we spawn the work cars directly in front of the platforms.

However, this was always a temporary solution and in this update we have added dedicated side tunnels and maintenance rooms in which the work cars appear from now on. Each station will contain two of these side tunnels.

To access these new spawn points, you must reach the platform and find one of the doors marked with a green maintenance room signboard.

Then just follow the corridor and this leads you to a brand new room in which the work car is waiting for you. The train tunnel lying in front of them then leads them back to the rail network.

In addition, while ICH worked on these adjoining rooms, I also resolved a long-standing problem in which it was too difficult to jump from the tracks down to the platform. If you are now falling from the platform, you can jump back immediately.
