LOL-Patch 12.8 makes a big change in the stopwatch before MSI 2022

The meta of the League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational 2022 will look quite different than we have been used to this year. Since the last few patches have made quite large changes on both champions and objects, the designs we see in South Korea could indeed be very sharp. With the latest patch, LOL-Patch 12.8, Riot Games continues the trend and makes a big change to one of the most widespread elements of the game in the current meta, which is introduced in MSI 2022: stopwatch.

At the moment it is possible to buy additional stopwatches, even though they have one of the completed forms: guardian angels or Zhonya's hourglass. However, Riot says that "the use of the stopwatch in addition to the terminal elements can lead to some rather shattering states and all-round unpleasant moments". For this reason, the studio has now removed the opportunity to buy more stopwatches if you have one of the last iterations.

The power of the Stasis made the stopwatch and the associated objects a main support in the professional game this year. In the second half of the Spring Split, Jungle Picks like Jarvan IV and Volibear even began building stopwatch items-especially Zhonyas-as second after their mythic.

In fact, strong supporters such as Leona and Nautilus were often spotted with these objects - especially in the LPl. In all cases, the value of the Stasis in committed champions from the lower economy seems to be assessed higher by professionals than investing in tank statistics.
